THE COMPANY
The business was established in Boscombe in l964, subsequently moving a year later to the prestigious showroom at the Lansdowne, where the Riley family had been trading under the banner of Somerset Garage since 1965.
In 1997 it was decided that more space and improved workshop facilities were required and the present large and well equipped premises at Matchams, Ringwood were purchased, and an ongoing programme of improvements and modernisation commenced.
The family business now offers a selection of some thirty genuine mileage and service history cars for sale at any given time with a wide range of values and models. Full service facilities and major repairs are offered, together with MOT test facilities. Car parking is easy in our large adjoining car park.
Over the years we have built up a loyal customer base for sales and repairs, stretching many miles from Ringwood. Many of our previous clients have returned again and again to purchase cars, or to have their own vehicles serviced and maintained. Some clients travel long distances to do so. With such a vote of confidence in our choice of stock and after sales service we hope that many more will join the ranks of our satisfied customers.
We are members of the Federation of Small Businesses for your added protection, and our normal warranty, backed by our own workshops, is approved by that organisation. In addition we are able to provide alternative warranty cover, up to a maximum of 36 months, on most vehicles, at a very reasonable premium. All usual trade facilities are available, and part exchanges are welcomed.
THE RILEY FAMILY
Originally started by Philip Riley, the business is currently owned and operated by his sons, Michael, who together with Martin operate the sales section, and Keith, who is responsible for the service and repairs department. Martin is also the Company secretary.
OUR CARS
We are very careful in the selection of vehicles which we are prepared to offer for sale, and turn down at least as many as we eventually choose. We need to be satisfied that the mileage is correct, and like to see evidence of service and regular maintenance which can be passed to the next owner. Our price range is wide, and we can usually find specific vehicles to order, and are happy to do so.
