Tip 1.
Always take a test drive in any car that you are interested in buying. Make sure you're 100% happy. 

Tip 2.
Make sure that any car you buy is supplied with an H.P.I certificate. This will ensure that your new car has no outstanding finance attached to it, it has not been stolen and also that it has never been involved in any major accident

Tip 3.
Your new car should be supplied with a Mileage Certificate to guarantee that the mileage is Correct.

Tip 4.
Make sure that the seller holds the V5 Vehicle Registration Document - this is also known as the log book. This should be available for your inspection before you purchase any vehicle and it will also give details of the past ownership of the vehicle.

Tip 5.
Ensure that the Car that you are buying comes with a new full MOT certificate. This lets the buyer know that the car has been independently checked to show that it is road-worthy.

Tip 6.
If entering into a finance agreement with a dealer, make sure that this does not form part of the purchase conditions and that you are given a time period available to research for more competitive terms or rates.

Tip 7.
A competent motor dealer will always provide you with a company invoice which clearly specifies the car you are buying and the amount that you are paying. If leaving a deposit for a vehicle make sure that you obtain a receipt for any monies paid.

Tip 8.
Once you have bought your new car, make sure that you are covered for valid insurance BEFORE  you drive it away.
